Independent Audiologist in Loudwater, High Wycombe

Buckinghamshire Hearing is an independent private audiology clinic led by fully qualified, HCPC-registered audiologists. No manufacturer ties. No sales pressure. Just clinical excellence.

Our Story

Why Buckinghamshire Hearing Exists

Buckinghamshire Hearing was founded on a simple conviction: that people in High Wycombe and the surrounding area deserve access to genuinely independent, clinically-led audiology care, the kind that puts diagnosis before sales, and patients before profit margins.

Too many people experience hearing care as a transaction. They visit a high-street chain, receive a brief screening, and are presented with a limited range of hearing aids from a single manufacturer, often the one that owns the chain. The assessment is cursory, the recommendation is commercially driven, and the aftercare is minimal.

We believe there is a better way. Our clinic operates from a dedicated clinical facility in Loudwater, equipped with calibrated diagnostic equipment and a sound-treated assessment room. Every appointment is conducted by a fully qualified audiologist, not a hearing aid dispenser or sales representative. And our Auditory Rehabilitation Process ensures that your care follows a structured, evidence-based pathway from first consultation to ongoing monitoring.

We always start with a thorough diagnostic assessment before discussing treatment. Understanding the cause and nature of your hearing difficulty is the foundation of effective care.

Patient-Centred Care

We take the time to listen, explain, and involve you in every decision. There is no sales pressure, no time-limited offers, and no obligation to proceed with any recommendation.

Common Questions

About Us FAQs

What qualifications does your audiologist hold?

Our audiologist holds a university degree in Audiology (BSc or MSc) and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This is the highest level of clinical qualification in UK audiology and is a legally protected title.

What is the difference between an audiologist and a hearing aid dispenser?

An audiologist holds a university degree in audiology and is trained to diagnose hearing conditions, manage tinnitus, and provide rehabilitation. A hearing aid dispenser holds a different, narrower qualification focused primarily on fitting hearing aids. Both are regulated, but the scope of practice differs significantly.

Why does independence matter?

Many high-street hearing aid providers are owned by or contracted to specific manufacturers, which limits the products they can recommend. As an independent clinic, we have access to every major manufacturer and select devices based purely on your clinical needs and preferences.

Do you accept NHS referrals?

We are a private clinic and do not provide NHS-funded services. However, you do not need a GP referral to see us, you can book directly. If we identify a condition requiring NHS investigation, we will arrange the appropriate referral.
